New solution – “Apply with Vitae” – offers application automation tools to help thousands of academic job seekers and employers

AUSTIN, Texas, May 15, 2014 — The Chronicle of Higher Education Inc. and PeopleAdmin today announced “Apply with Vitae,” a new solution to make academic job searches easier and less expensive. Candidates can now apply for jobs at hundreds of PeopleAdmin client institutions by seamlessly transferring standard application information from their Vitae profile. The announcement was made at PeopleConnect 2014, PeopleAdmin’s annual client conference.  Vitae, the new online career hub from The Chronicle of Higher Education, provides members with free career management advice and tools, including a dossier service.

“Matching the best talent with the right position is the lifeblood of any college, and we are pleased to partner with PeopleAdmin to simplify this important process,” says Mireille Grangenois, publisher of The Chronicle of Higher Education and Vitae. “Academics can now apply for thousands of jobs using Vitae profile information and the free dossier service — making their job search easier and less expensive.”

“With millions of job applications submitted each year, colleges and universities are constantly seeking better ways to reduce costs and manage the institution’s scarce resources,” says Troy Winskowicz, Vice President of Product Management from PeopleAdmin, “By combining PeopleAdmin’s applicant-tracking capabilities with Vitae’s career-management tools and networking, this partnership will streamline how applications are submitted and received at hundreds of colleges and universities.”

Starting this month, members of the Vitae community will be able to use the free “Apply with Vitae” service to export information from their Vitae profile and dossier directly into the online job applications at the hundreds of PeopleAdmin partner institutions. That one-step approach will save them time and money in their job search by allowing them to use the same information to apply for multiple jobs.

Since The Chronicle of Higher Education launched Vitae in October 2013, faculty and administrators from more than 2,500 institutions have joined the online community. Vitae is dedicated to making life easier for academics and administrators by providing:

  • A community of academics and administrators that enables users to build meaningful connections with others in their discipline and beyond, identify new funding opportunities, spotlight their work and experience, and be found by potential collaborators.
  • Career management tools , including a free dossier service, that allow users to manage the search process for all positions, request letters of recommendations and submit applications, compile tenure files, import their CV (curriculum vitae).
  • A comprehensive source of jobs in higher education. including executive level opportunities and entry-level positions, all presented to a career-minded audience of faculty and administrators.

More in “Kingston Adult Education courses”

We offer a range of exciting adult education courses for life, personal development, work and leisure.

Enrol on a course

Many courses fill up quickly so please enrol early to ensure your place. Classes with too few learners may be closed before the start of term – so early enrolment is also important to avoid unnecessary cancellation of classes.

Course fees

Course fees vary depending on the type of course and level of subsidy provided by the Government. The standard fee listed in our course information applies unless you qualify for concessions or a fully funded free course.

Examination and accreditation fees have been included in the course fee where possible. If not, this will be shown in the information for the course.

Most fees include basic equipment, but you may have to buy additional materials.

There will be no price increase for adult education courses next year. This coincides with our move from the North Kingston Centre during the summer. The two main venues will be King Charles Centre and Newent House, both in Surbiton. The new 2014/2015 prospectus will be available from July at our centres and local libraries.

Inclusive learning

You may be entitled to extra assistance if you have any of the following:

  • a mental health difficulty
  • require help with reading, writing or using numbers
  • a specific learning difficulty
  • a physical disability which may hinder your learning

Thanks for joining us for National Health Education Week (NHEW) 2013!

This year’s theme was “The Role of Health Education Specialists in Implementing the Affordable Care Act.”

Since 1995, National Health Education Week (NHEW) has been celebrated during the third full week of October. Sponsored by the Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE), this celebration focuses national attention on a major public health issue and promotes consumers’ understanding of the role of health education in promoting the public’s health.

In response to sky rocketing healthcare costs, demand for improved health outcomes and increased access and quality of care, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) was signed into law on March 23, 2010. The law authorized establishment of new models of payer and system reform and created new opportunities for health educators to address prevention, wellness, and chronic disease management.

This year’s NHEW addressed implementation of this historic law. Below are resources as well as the daily topic themes.
